Australia's Flirtation with a Carbon Tax – Paper Presentation, International Studies
Sharova explains how and why the Australian government repealed the carbon tax just two years after it was implemented.
Her research centered on understanding and explaining how the climate change policy process worked in Australia, with a focus on the key stakeholders, specifically the role of the energy and mining sectors, as well as the role of environmental NGOs and climate change think tanks.
As a part of her research, she visited Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra, Australia in summer 2014 where she interviewed government officials, environmental NGOs, and energy sector representatives.
