Description

Expressive methods, such as sandtray, have a long history of being a part of the counseling profession. Sandtray provides a safe medium for individuals to share, explore, and grow from their experiences. Counselors-in-training are expected to reflect on who they are, become more self aware, and recognize their roles in the counseling relationship. This is often done in the classroom through readings, discussions, role-plays, and practicum experiences. Participants will gain an understanding of how the use of sandtray in the classroom can enhance professional identity for counselor and other future educators.
