Description

The purpose of this proposed study is to comprehensively investigate the contents and methods for the education of children’s literature based on the mythological harmony in order for learners to aim at drawing their holistic lives. The mythological harmony has been standing out as an alternative to rationalism which has been engraved deeply in our conscious mind since the advent of modern era. Rationalism in the modern era has devalued the human awareness of the world and has taken rationality away from sensitivity, and human beings from nature by using reason as a tool. Human beings even objectify and alienate themselves. The problems caused by the segmented and fragmented human life appear in not only adult life but also child life. Thus, mythological harmony is needed as a way to solve these problems by organizationally connecting these segmented and conflicting relations with each other. The mythological harmony is embedded in literature, especially in children’s literature. Therefore, this study focuses on ways in which learners aim at constructing their holistic lives through the education of children’s literature based on the mythological harmony.
