The sexual shame that educational professionals experience commonly gets in the way of their relationships and ability to work effectively with students, clients and colleagues. I will provide participants with a brief experiential activity, a definition and history of the study of shame and in particular, sexual shame. I will focus on professional counselors and their experience of sexual shame. Future research directions will be discussed. This will be a fun and safe place to discuss a topic that is not normally discussed in professional settings but that plays a role in all of our lives.
