Description

ALIS Engineering was approached by Cody Labs CEO Ric Asherman with a request to create a system that will reduce the labor associated with seasonal lawn care. The fertigation system design aimed to fulfill this request by enabling the automated delivery of lawn care chemicals through the consumer’s exis ting sprinkler system. The ultimate goal of the product is to provide a user friendly control system that would be able to treat a lawn with fertilizer, herbicide or pesticide on a user defined schedule. The prototype system provided by ALIS Engineering se rves as a proof of concept for Mr. Asherman to expand upon and potentially make commercially available in the future. ALIS Engineering is students Joe Beach, Thomas Benich, Luke Biggs and Casey Valkenburg. It was founded as part of the UW Mechanical Engine ering Department’s Senior Design Class.
